 >>  Distribution and Production

Advances in efficiency and fuel quality management in production, at the bulk plant, and during propane distribution position the industry to provide high-quality propanebobtail with border to any consumer who demands it.  Through the Propane Education & Research Council, the propane industry is investing in the development of best practices for propane production and processing to ensure that the industry can respond to increasing demand for propane and that propane fuel can meet the energy reliability, environmental, and cost requirements of current and future propane applications.

Propane has a narrow range of flammability when compared with other petroleum products. In order to ignite, the propane/air mix must contain from 2.2 to 9.6 percent propane vapor. If the mixture contains less than 2.2 percent gas, it is too lean to burn. If it contains more than 9.6 percent, it is too rich to burn.
